Are you already injecting but want to increase your expertise and reach a true certification?

Did you know there is no true certification for aesthetic injectors in Ontario and Canada? Courses that say they are “ Certified” or provide “ Certification” or have a “ Board” are simply using these terms as part of their marketing strategy. When questioned, they will indicate that you are being “certified” to their individual criteria. Thus, you can imagine that “certification” can then vary widely across courses - some may provide in depth content and intensive hands on experience while others may definitely be lacking.

In the UK, there is a true certification available. It is administered through an independent awarding body with standardized learning objectives that need to be met. The assessment about whether the learning objectives are met is done through written assessments including an in depth injection logbook and a variety of short answer questions. The assessment is done by individuals completely separate from where the trainee took their training course. Thus, it is a TRUE third party certification, not influenced or decided upon by an individual training facility. If you are already injecting, you do not need to go back and take the Introductory courses. You can participate by taking an upgrade to the International Certification. This will include 1 day of customized training for you combined with the completion of a logbook and short answer questions that will be submitted to the UK for assessment.“

This qualification is awarded by OTHM, which is a globally-recognized, well-respected, regulated awarding body. APT Injection Training administers this qualification in conjunction with MATA Training Academy located in the United Kingdom.

Course Overview

The course is delivered by “blended learning”, meaning attendees can schedule their studies according to their individual work and lifestyle routines all whilst still gaining a valuable qualification. Certificate in the Principles and Practice of Clinical Injectable Therapies (Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Fillers) is comprised of the following:

  • Online theory via a comprehensive Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to be completed prior to the hands-on course
  • 1 day customized Hands-on injection technique training and practice using live models with a maximum Trainee/Trainer ratio of 2:1
  • Completion of a Log Book Assessment demonstrating 10 observed treatments and 10 executed treatments each for toxin and dermal filler ( 40 treatments total)
