A comprehensive 1-day course providing intensive, small group, ( 2:1 Trainee: Trainer ratio) hands-on injectable training providing the necessary knowledge in the field of dental aesthetics or for dentists who are choosing to add therapeutic neurotoxin and lip filler services to their scope of practice.

In this course, extensive pre-course material is provided to review the pharmacology of neurotoxins and dermal filler, their indications and contraindications, side effects, dilution (neurotoxin) and appropriate injection methods for both. In addition, complication overview and treatment protocol, as well as all relevant anatomy, will be covered. The training day begins with a review of critical information, a demonstration of the procedures on a live model followed by hands-on injecting of live models. Expect to see 5-7 patients.

  • History of fillers, current filler offerings, filler classifications, mechanism of action, dermal fillers as medical devices, indications for dermal fillers
  • Contraindications for treatment, adverse events and treatment of adverse events including the Tyndall effect, biofilms, granulomas, vascular occlusion
  • Pharmacology, rheology of fillers, crosslinking and stability of fillers, different types of fillers
  • Anesthesia for injection, injection techniques, understanding of needles and cannulas
  • Facial areas and treatment – lips, lip lines, melomental lines and folds
  • Proper injection techniques – bolus, serial puncture, retrograde and antegrade injections, linear threading, fanning, cross-hatching, layering and others as required
  • Actual demonstration and hands-on training on at least 5 to 7 patient models
